Black
Country Living Museum
The Black Country Living museum occupies a twenty six acre urban
heritage park in the shadow of Dudley Castle in the centre of the Black
Country. Electric tramcars and trolleybuses transport visitors from the
entrance in a recreated factory to the village area with thirty
buildings situated by the canal basin. Coal mine displays include
underground workings, colliery surface buildings and a replica of the
1712 Newcomen steam engine. In all forty two separate displays have
either been re-erected |

Severn
Valley Railway
The SVR is a full-size standard-gauge line running regular steam-hauled
passenger trains for the benefit of tourists and enthusiasts alike
between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a
distance of 16 miles. Services run every weekend of the year and daily
at peak times. Santa special trains run on weekends in December with a
daily service operating from Boxing Day through to the New Year. |

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens were opened in 1832. They were designed
by J. C. Loudon, a leading garden planner, horticultural journalist and
publisher. Today the gardens offer a superb opportunity for recreation
and relaxation close to the centre of Birmingham. |

THE
BIRMINGHAM TESTERS RUN
The Birmingham Testers Run is one of the largest classic motorcycle
events in the United Kingdom. The annual event starts from each of the
former motorcycle factories of BSA, Norton, Ariel, Velocette, Triumph
& Velocette. The web site also contains histories of the Birmingham
motorcycle factories. The organisers also promote the annual Mike
Hailwood Memorial Run in March. |

Vintage Trains is the operating company for the collection of steam
locomotives kept at Tyseley Locomotive Works under the guardianship of
the Birmingham Railway Museum Trust.Vintage Trains operates a regular
steam train service between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon called
the "Shakespeare Express".
