The revolutionary Mellotron keyboard was built by Streetly Electronics,
Birmingham and was responsible for the legendary sound of the Moodies
among many others. From 1964 'til now, it has played an important part
in Rock music. Today Streetly Electronics are back in business restoring
these wonderful machines for the likes of Paul McCartney, Oasis and
Radiohead and private musicians and collectors. |

Birmingham & Midland Operatic Society
Birmingham's oldest (1886) premier amateur operatic society. Have played
many shows at the hippodrome and are due to start rehearsals for 'Guys

Chads & Sundowners Page
Brum produced many fantastic Pop groups and singers in the 60's &
70's. Some went on to become huge international names such as The Move,
The Moody Blues, ELO etc etc. Some did the local circuits around Brum
and sometimes on the near Continent and became the starting ground for
many of the household names in Brummie-made Pop Music. One such musician
was Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)..and this site by Mick
